Liebenwalde

The state got its name from the two regions it encompasses, Mecklenburg and Vorpommern. The name refers to the "nearer part of Pomerania," with the remaining part now located in Poland.

At 179 metres, the Helpter Berge are the highest mountain in Mecklenburg-Vorpommern.
