The Lofoten and northern Sweden

Deutsch | English

In the morning a few kilometres to Bodø and then the crossing to the Lofoten in the best weather, in a good 3 hours. There was no lack of photogenic villages, sandy beaches and mountains today.

Started the day with rain, ended it with sun... cycling is an experience on the islands, a few others are travelling by bike too, some take 2 weeks for the islands, and on the side I hear two Japanese tell that for them it is the first day of a year-long bike tour they are planning :)

In these days I turn some alternative routes over in my head: Tromsø and the North Cape, the Hurtigruten to Bergen or a short excursion into the Norwegian-Swedish-Finnish corner... it stays with the route towards Narvik and Kiruna.

For now the last day in Norway; the Kong-Olav-Veien takes me across the border and the 150 km to Kiruna are a joy with a light tailwind. Photographically it is rather gloomy because of the bad weather.
